Step 2: How to apply
Have you looked at information about the partner university and is ready to apply for your exchange semester?
Then follow the instructions in this step.
Application for an exchange place
Applying is easy and quick if you have prepared your university choices in advance.
Information about the partner universities
- Before applying, review information about our partner universities in the MOA Portal

Application link by email
- Apply online in MOA (Mobility Online).
- Eligible programmes receive an application link via email.
- Apply only if you intend to accept the offered place.
Access to application for students with individual study plans
- Contact the International Office for application access well in advance if you have study leave or an individual study plan.
Exchange places
- Application shows available universities, availability varies each year and semester.
- Each JU school has its own partner universities and exchange places.
- Number of places is not published.
Application in MOA
- Follow link in e-mail.
- View available universities and places.
- Choose up to 10 alternatives, ranking your top choice first.
- Submit your application
- After submission, receive MOA login credentials via email.
- Add/remove universities until the deadline.
- Info about previous students and courses available once logged in.
- Only choose universities you are willing to study at.
- Individual applications only.
- Submit required documents by the deadline (for Double degree application).
Important Note
- All grades must be registered in Ladok by the application deadline.
Selection Process
Selection Criteria
Based on:
Credits completed in Ladok
- Extra courses within the programme's timeframe at JU
- Swedish language courses within the programme's timeframe at JU
- Accredited courses into the study programme at JU
Grade point average (GPA)
Study abroad points
Accept offered place
Selection Results
- E-mailed after the International Office completes the selection.
Accepting an Offered Place
- Offered one place at one partner university only.
- Accept the place by the given deadline to keep it.
If You Didn't Get a Place
- Assistance provided to find an exchange place for eligible students.
No Deferrals
- Apply only to universities you want to study at.
- If you don't accept your place, you won't get another one.
- Not accepting your place blocks it for fellow students.
Prepare for your formal application to the partner university
- While waiting for the nomination, prepare yourself by checking information about the partner university in the MOA Portal and the Fact Sheet provided there.
- Check the Partner University's website for information regarding nomination and application deadlines.
Nomination of Students
- Official nomination sent to Partner University once you accept your place.
- No action required from student's side.
- The Partner University will reach out to you after the nomination has been accepted with information regarding the application process.
