Erasmus+ scholarship for studies

Erasmus+ is an EU programme with the aim to boost skills and employability as well as to modernise education, training and youth work. The programme provides opportunities for over 4 million participants in Europe to study, train and gain experience abroad.

As a student registered at Jönköping University, you have the possibility to study for 2-12 months at one of our Erasmus+ partner universities. All students that are selected and nominated as Erasmus students can apply for an Erasmus+ scholarship for studies. The scholarship is an EU funded financial support to help you cover additional costs related to your mobility abroad.

The scholarship amount is based on the length of your exchange period (number of days) and receiving country. The duration of stay on-campus needs to be min. 60 days and max. 360 days. Currently, the scholarship amount is between 510-560€ per month (Erasmus+ project 2023).

Participating countries

The member states of the European Union, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Serbia can fully take part in the Erasmus+ mobility programme. Switzerland and the UK are not a part of Erasmus+.

Types of mobilites

Physical mobility = on site studies in the host country, either on campus or entirely or partially online

Virtual mobility = online studies that does not take place in the host country, but from Sweden or another country than the host country

Blended mobility = a combination between physical and virtual mobility

The Erasmus+ scholarship will be granted for the physical parts of the mobility (physical mobility) only and not for the virtual part (virtual mobility).
