Before Arrival

By now, you should have already applied for student housing through our Accommodation Office. Make sure you announce your arrival to Accommodation Office between 1-20 December to confirm your application. Note: if you do not announce your arrival, you will lose your guaranteed accommodation!

 

Keep in mind that it can be hard to find private accommodation in Jönköping, so we strongly recommend you to follow through with the student housing application. Before arriving in Sweden, it is important to ensure that you have adequate insurance. Read more.

***Registration is only possible one week before the start of the semester. You will receive an email with instructions on how to register for your courses and activate your JU user account when the registration is open.***


Please note that the registration is mandatory.


The login process consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Visit www.ju.se/registration

(Please note that you will not be able to log in via the link above until you have received an email from us)


Step 2: To retrieve the one-time password, fill in in the username.

Username - the one used for the online application system Mobility Online and the housing application.

You need a JU card to access premises on campus, borrow books from the University Library, access printers, get student discounts, etc. You should order your JU card when activating your account. You can either upload a picture online or take one at one of the photo booths around campus once you arrive. More info can be found at ju.se/ju-card

JU Mobile allows you to access your schedule through the app as well as book rooms, register for exams, see your study results, view the news, etc. You can download it on the App Store, or Google Play.

09:30 - 10:30 - Welcome meeting with International Office

You will also meet representatives from the Student Union and each school's Student Association.

10:45 - 11:45 - Preparation of your studies at Jönköping University

08:30 - 12:00 ONLINE Course Confirmation

There will be different time slots for all students. You will receive information about your time slot and zoom link via email before the meeting.

 

14:00 - 15:15 - The Swedish Health Care System and your well-being at Jönköping University

You will meet the Swedish Police, Accommodation Office, the Student Union, Student Health Center, Service Center (Student Insurances)

09:30 - 11:00 - Academic Integrity and Education Support at Jönköping University

13:00 - 14:00 - "Gateway to the Swedish Culture and Traditions"

13:00 - 15:00 - Free guided bus tour around Jönköping (sponsored by Jönköping Municipality) - First come first served!

Meeting point: outside of Student's House, Gjuterigatan 5

 

To pay for your printouts you need a PayPal account or a credit card (ex. Visa/Mastercard, Maestro are not accepted). More info on printing here.

At JU, it is compulsory for all students to become members of Jönköping Student Union. The Student Union is a great resource for students – they influence the quality of education, arrange activities and trips, carry out various projects, and much more. The student union fee is included in the tuition for tuition-fee paying students, however, all other students are required to pay the membership fee separately. ***Please note that all Certificates of Arrival and Departure should be signed physically once you are at present at JU. Learning agreements can be signed either physical or digitally via the case system or the DLA platform of your home university***


  • Signing Document drop-in: Thursday 9 January in the HLK entrance (outside of the JU-aula)

(This session is only for students who have received documents from their home university that they need to have signed. If you have not received any documents, you do not need to attend).


Please make sure to fill in the information requested on the documents before you submit them to be signed!


You can submit your Learning Agreement to be signed via our case management system, http://exchange.ju.se, please choose case type: incoming exchange or via the DLA platform of your home university.

It is compulsory to attend the Introduction Week, however if for some reason you are unable to arrive in time, please contact the International Office (choose "Incoming Exchange" as the case type). Also remember to contact the Accommodation Office about your late arrival: accommodation@ju.se.
