The University Library's mission is to enable academic learning and to enhance the quality and dissemination of Jönköping University's research.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Providing access to scientific information resources tailored to JU’s education and research
  • Offering JU students a varied and stimulating learning environment that promotes safety and social sustainability
  • Assisting with guidance in information searching and the use of library resources
  • Teaching and supervising in searching for and evaluating information in an academic context
  • Teaching and supervising academic writing and reading
  • Supporting the research process through systematic literature searches and advising on publishing and research data management
  • Making JU’s research publications accessible and providing publication statistics and bibliometric analyses
  • Acting as a link in the national transition to open science
  • Supporting JU’s teachers in their pedagogical development within the framework of the university’s educational center, Educate

The library is also a meeting place and a venue for knowledge exchange. As part of the public library system, the University Library has a mission to contribute to the development of a democratic society.
