Pathway Intensive English campus course and degree programme
This information is for students admitted to Pathway Intensive English Campus course (summer) with a conditional admission to a bachelor or master programme
Pathway Intensive English Campus Summer only
If you are only admitted to Pathway Intensive English Campus course (Summer) without a follow-up programme, you are not eligible for a study permit. See the information for summer courses at the main study permit page.
Please remember that you cannot apply for a residence permit unless you have been admitted to full time accredited university studies in Sweden and paid the tuition fee (in this case both for Pathway Summer and the first invoice for the degree programme).
Information about the application fee for a residence permit can be found on the Swedish Migration Agency’s website External link, opens in new window..
You will need the following documents when you apply for a residence permit:
- Both Letters of Acceptance (Pathway Summer and degree programme), you will not receive any new letters after payment of the fees
- Proof of emergency insurance (your Letters of Acceptance). See the information at ju.se/insurance Opens in new window.
- Proof of extra health insurance, optional (for non-emergency events especially if admitted to a one-year programme and if you have any pre-existing conditions).
- A passport valid for the duration of the studies in Sweden or the duration of the residence permit.
- Your paid invoice to prove you have paid the tuition fee (download from the invoice system).
- A bank statement in your name in English with the currency clearly stated, showing that you have enough funds to support yourself for the duration of the permit period you apply for. The bank statement should not be dated earlier than 4 months before the start of the Pathway course.
Please note that if you do not have a student loan or sponsorship from an organisation, you can submit your application for residence permit no earlier than 4 months before the date you set as the permit start date.
You should apply for a residence permit starting the date of the start of Pathway Intensive English Campus course and the end date should be 13 months later (or when the first academic year ends (date in the Letter of Acceptance) for a one-year programme). This means that you can apply for a residence permit for study on 15 March at the earliest (if you have paid the Pathway course fee as well as the tuition fee for the degree programme).
The current maintenance requirement can be found on the Swedish Migration Agency’s website External link, opens in new window., under "You must be able to support yourself".
