This is an ongoing research project that started in 2024 and will last until 2027. The aim is to analyze the social and environmental consequences of the simplified permitting process for the extraction of critical and strategic raw materials that is part of the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) legislative package. The aim of the project is to contribute with important interdisciplinary perspectives and knowledge on what CRMA means and what consequences it may have for the entire raw material value chain in solar and wind power.

The project is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
