Identity document
It is important to be able to provide a form of identification, such as an ID card issued by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), to verify your identity.
The Tax Agency ID card is an approved form of identification in Sweden. You can use the ID card to verify your age or identity when dealing with banks, the police, healthcare institutions, and other authorities.
To apply for an ID card, you must be registered in the Swedish Population Register and have a personal identity number. It is important to note that processing may take a couple of weeks, so it is recommended to apply early in the process.
Please note that individuals with a coordination number cannot apply for a Tax Agency ID card.
