Forskning

Björns forskning syftar till att främja förståelsen av stelning och de förhållanden som råder vid defektbildning. Detta innefattar undersökning av hur de olika stelningskropparna utvecklas och interagerar och hur den lokala kemiska sammansättningen varierar under stelningsförloppet.

Forskningen genomförs i samarbete med Scania CV AB, Volvo Powertrain Production Gjuteriet AB, Swerea SWECAST under forskningsprojektet "SPOFIC II" inom Swedish Casting Innovation Center (CIC) finansierat av Vinnova. Syftet med projektet är att utveckla verktyg som kommer att hjälpa gjuteriingenjörer och konstruktörer att förutse och undvika defekter i gjutgods, vilket möjliggör kostnadsbesparingar och ökad komponentprestanda.

Biografi

Björn växte upp i Piteå, en liten stad i norra Sverige. År 2009 flyttade han till Jönköping för att studera maskinteknik vid Tekniska högskolan i Jönköping. Studier utökades med masterprogrammet Produktutveckling och material, där gjutna material blev ett särskilt intresse. Programmet avslutades med ett forskningsorienterat examensarbete inom gjutjärn. Från 2014 studerar han till en doktorsexamen vid universitetets avdelning för material och tillverkning inom gjuteriteknik.
