International Cardiovascular Conference to Jönköping
400 participants from over 30 countries will visit Jönköping on May 18-20 to discuss and learn more about care for people with cardiovascular disease.
This is the first time that the EuroHeartCare conference comes to Sweden, the result of five years of work by the School of Health and Welfare at Jönköping University, Destination Jönköping and Swedish Association on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions.
The conference is organized annually by the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions, a council aimed at supporting nurses and allied professions to provide the best possible care for patients with cardiovascular disease. The Council is, in turn, part of the European Society of Cardiology, a non-profit organization that for over 65 years has promoted the development and harmonization of routines for diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Europe.
“The reason that Jönköping was chosen to host EuroHeartCare is that in the last decade, the School of Health and Welfare and Region Jönköping has had a strong research profile in cardiovascular care, which has been very noticeable both nationally and internationally”, says Professor Jan Mårtensson at the School of Health and Welfare.
