Media gathering when the Riksbank held a press conference at JU
On Thursday 23 November, the Riksbank held a press conference on the monetary policy decision at the University Library, Jönköping University. Over 10 newsrooms with journalists from both local and national media were on site to take part in the decision regarding the policy rate.

Måns Svensson appointed as new President of Jönköping University
The Foundation Governing Board has decided to appoint Professor Måns Svensson as new President of Jönköping University starting 1 April 2024. Professor Svensson has previously worked as Dean of the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences at Halmstad University.

Children's rights highlighted at major conference
Over 300 participants attended the Children's Rights Conference that took place on the Convention on the Rights of the Child Day on 20 November at Jönköping University (JU). Ombudsman for Children, Elisabeth Dahlin, was one of the speakers together with, among others, Frida Lygnegård, researcher at the School of Health and Welfare, JU.

JU Solar Team was celebrated for its success in Australia
On 10 November JU Solar Team was celebrated at the School of Engineering for their success in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia."I feel very proud when I think of this team, says Ingrid Wadskog, Managing Director and Dean at the School of Engineering, Jönköping University (JU), who participated on the roughly 3 000 kilometer journey from Darwin in the north to Adelaide in the south.

140 exhibitors and approximately 1,500 students attended the career fair Karriärum at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU) on 8 November.“This is a great fair, which sparks new ideas and inspiration. I think all visitors to the fair think the same,” says Isagel Josefsson, who met her employer Qtech Group at last year's Karriärum.

Swedish Research Council holds major conference at JU
On 28-29 November, the Swedish Research Council (VR) will hold its conference Results Dialogue 2023. The conference is organized by and will take place at the School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University (JU). 16 completed projects that have been funded by VR will present their results, and two exciting projects that JU researchers are involved in will also be presented.
