About 150 people participated in the AI day at Jönköping University (JU) on 28 September.“A very successful day with a good mix of speakers who work with AI from different perspectives,” says Sonny Johansson, Lecturer at the School of Engineering (JTH) at JU and one of the people who organized the event.

Region Västmanland joins the dentistry campaign
Jönköping University, in collaboration with Linköping University and Region Jönköping County wants to start a new dental training programme. Of Sweden's 21 regions, 13 have joined the campaign.

New Honorary Doctors and Professors to give inaugural lectures
On 8 October, the Jönköping University Academic Ceremony will take place. At the ceremony, 26 PhDs and four honorary doctors will be conferred, and five professors will be installed.

Alumni of the Year named
On 5 October, Jönköping University (JU) will hand out the Alumni of the Year award during a ceremony. Mats Jackson, Executive Vice President at Jönköping University, will award prizes to the five people who then will be able to call themselves 'Alumnus of the Year 2022'. The winners are revealed below.

JU students illuminates historical site in Norrahammar
14 Lighting Design students at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU) are organising the annual September Lights at Norrahammars Bruk (an old factory site) in collaboration with the municipality of Jönköping on the evening of 24 September. The event is open to the public and free of charge and there will be musical entertainment and refreshments.

The University Library celebrates 25 years
During week 38 (19-23 September), the library celebrates 25 years with five lunch events in the JMW hall in the library. The anniversary week begins with an an opening ceremony and is then followed by lectures, an author visit, and musical entertainment.

Johanna Linder, who has studied Logistics and Management at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU,) worked this spring at Médecins Sans Frontières’ (MSF) support base for Ukraine in South-Eastern Poland.

Suicide Prevention Day arranged at Jönköping University
On 8 September, a the yearly Suicide Prevention Day was arranged at Jönköping University (JU). The participants listened to lectures from researchers, Student Health Centre, JU Chaplaincy and the Fire and Rescue Service, about how they work with and are affected by suicide prevention in different ways.
