Jonas Sandberg is a registered nurse, holds a PhD in geriatrics, and is Associate Professor in Nursing Science. He works as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nursing and at the Institute of Gerontology. Jonas also serves as the subject representative for the Department of Nursing.

His research primarily focuses on the situation of informal caregivers, analyzed through perspectives of gender, identity, and power, as well as violence prevention in informal care settings. An additional research area concerns children and adolescents who have a parent with an acquired cognitive disorder (such as dementia), and the support provided to these children and adolescence.
