Ann-Christine är Docent i kvalitetsförbättring och Ledarskap inom Hälsa och Välfärd, och arbetar som lektor och forskare på Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare, School of Health and Welfare. Hon undervisar och handleder studenter på masterprogrammet i kvalitetsförbättring och ledarskap för hälsa och välfärd. Hon är även Docent i Vårdvetenskap vid Malmö universitet. 

Ann-Christines forskning är tvärvetenskaplig inom området förbättringsvetenskap, och sträcker sig från organisatoriskt perspektiv och införande av regelverk och samverkan, till mer personnära co-production och co-design. Hon handleder doktorander inom vitt skilda ämnesområden, ledarskap och vuxenutveckling, lärande och sensemaking, kvalitetsregisterforskning, migration och införande av e-hälsosystem i psykiatri, alla med bäring på förbättringskunskap och förbättringsvetenskapsforskning.

Ann-Christine är en ofta anlitad föreläsare och lärare, både internt på högskolan, andra universitet och högskolor och av externa organisationer och myndigheter. Hon har internationella kontakter och erfarenheter genom bland annat arbete med en MOOC tillsammans med NHS i Storbritannien.

Ann-Christine disputerade 2013 vid tekniska högskolan, Linköpings Universitet med avhandlingen Quality Improvement in Healthcare: Experiences from a Swedish County Council Initiative.
