Årets Klimatkonferens sätter ljuset på hur vi tillsammans kan möta klimatutmaningarna med hopp, handlingskraft och affärsmässighet. Under konferensen får vi lyssna till Daniel Nordström från Gapminder som guidar oss i hur vi bättre förstår vår omvärld, Maria Soxbo som lyfter rättvisefrågor i det komplexa klimatarbetet och Henrik Wahlgren som visar hur vi omsätter ny kunskap till konkret förändring. Klimatkonferensen arrangeras av Klimatrådet Jönköpings län, där Jönköping University är en av medarrangörerna.

Information Classification: The Cornerstone We Keep Tripping Over

Abstract

In today’s digital world, information is one of the most valuable assets any organisation has. To protect it, best practices have led to the development of information classification methods, now embedded in standards such as ISO/IEC 27000. The goal of classification is to determine the value of an asset, which then feeds into risk analysis. This makes information classification central to risk management, a cornerstone for identifying the most critical assets and deciding where to invest in countermeasures.

The challenge, however, is that many organisations struggle to put classification into practice. This lecture explores why classification is so essential and what makes it so difficult. By unpacking real-world challenges such as unclear guidelines, subjective judgments, and the trade-off between simplicity and precision, I will show that classification is not just a technical task but also a cultural and organisational one. Finally, I will outline an agenda for how to approach the domain more effectively and highlight important areas for future research.

From telling to asking: Perspectives on a decade of research in human aspects of cybersecurity

Abstract
We have all heard that the users are the supposed weak links in the cybersecurity chain. This comes from a long time of observing that many or most cybersecurity incidents begin with or are enabled by user actions (or lack thereof). As can be understood by the “weak user” expression, the cybersecurity community has long taken a “blame the user” position and attempted to solve the situation by trying to inform users about how to use digital systems in a myriad of ways. Fast-forwarding to today, researchers and many practitioners agree that the “blame and train” approach is fundamentally flawed and look for other solutions. In this lecture, I will discuss my research in relation to this development and explain why the “blame and train” approach is fundamentally wrong. I will also reflect on why it doesn’t make sense to assume that informing users will remove the incidents stemming from users' behaviour and on what we should do instead, both with the tools available today and the methods we need to develop for tomorrow.

The paper discusses the need for an alternative vocabulary for biosphere-focused emotions and its relevance and application to management learning and education (MLE). The presentation will include tips for using the vocabulary in the classroom.

Den fantastiska saliven – en av kroppens superkrafter

Saliv är något vi sällan tänker på – men utan den skulle vår hälsa snabbt försämras. I denna föreläsning lyfts salivens fantastiska egenskaper och dess avgörande roll för både munhälsa och allmänhälsa.

Saliven skyddar tänder och slemhinnor, hjälper till att bryta ner maten, balanserar bakteriefloran och fungerar som kroppens första försvarslinje mot infektioner. Men det stannar inte där – ny forskning visar att saliv också kan avslöja tecken på sjukdomar som diabetes, hjärt-kärlsjukdom och stress.

Du får även ta del av nya planerade studier och resultat från  Jönköpingsstudien som är en epidemiologisk studie om munhälsa  –  vad den säger om vår livsstil, vårdbehov och framtida hälsoutmaningar.
