Visit from South Africa
Two representatives from Small Enterprise Development Agency in South Africa visit JIBS this week to see how and in what areas a research collaboration can be developed.
Mr Mendu Luhabe, senior manager in programme analysis and development, and Mr Mduduzi Dlamini, acting manager of the new offerings development unit, will spend the week in Jönköping listening to several presentations from our researchers as well as meeting the international office, the dean, ALMI, and Science Park.
“It is important for us to form partnerships and gather knowledge from the rest of the world, so that we don’t spend time and money on reinventing primary research that has already been done,” said Mr Luhabe.
A memorandum of understanding was signed this autumn, and this is the first meeting between Seda and JIBS to concretise the partnership and figure out the “what” and the “how”.
“Our visit here is to make ourselves acquainted with the international best practises in the field of entrepreneurship research, and see if there are specific research projects where we can collaborate,” said Mr Dlamini.
Seda provides business development and support services for small enterprises in South Africa. Seda also implements programmes targeted to business development in areas prioritised by the Government.
“We are very happy that we can start this collaboration, and see what we can accomplish together,” said JIBS Professor Ethel Brundin, who organises the visit.
