CeFEO is a worldwide's leading research environment in the area of Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership studies. Several studies and reports have consistently identified CeFEO among the top-3 research institutes for 20 years.
A bibliometrics study on Family Business Research published in Small Business Economics in 2024 places CeFEO and JIBS as #3 worldwide. Seven CeFEO faculty and affiliated members are listed among the Top50 scholars in the field. In this study, CeFEO is ranked #2 in Europe and #5 worldwide, among the 20 most productive institutions by total papers published. Also, Mattias Nordqvist is #14 among the 20 most productive authors, and the paper “Entrepreneurial orientation, risk taking, and performance in family firms” written by CeFEO members Lucia Naldi, Mattias Nordqvist, and Karin Hellerstedt with Johan Wiklund, is the #6 among the top 50 most cited articles published in FBR, JFBS and JFBM (Rovelli et al., 2021).
