Welcome CeFEO Guest Dr Giorgia M. D'Allura
Giorgia D'Allura from the University of Catania, Department of Economica and Business will be visiting CeFEO from the 30th September to the 30th October.
Giorgia is an Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at the University of Catania (Italy), from which she received her Ph.D. in Business Economics and Management. During her doctoral studies and her Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Giorgia was Visiting Scholar at the Warrington College of Business and Administration at the University of Florida (2003-2004, 2006, 2018), where together with Prof. Amir Erez, she studied how individuals influence team performance. She served as Co-Organizer of the Professional Development Workshop at the Academy of Management in 2016 and 2017, and as Guest Editor of the Entrepreneurship Research Journal’s Special Issue about “A Governance Approach of Emotions: For more meaningful entrepreneurial and family businesses”.
Giorgia's research focuses on how governance structures influence firms’ development patterns and strategies, with a special focus on institutional contexts, innovation and internationalization. Recently, her research interest focused on the role of emotions within the governance of entrepreneurial and family business. She was also visiting scholar at the Edhec Business school (2017), working with Prof. Rania Labaki on governance and emotions and at IPAG Business school (2018), working with Prof. Andrea Calabrò on governance and internationalization. Finally, she is interested in the technological innovation’s impact on market adoption and business model transformation, especially in high-tech industry.
Whilst visting CeFEO, Giorgia will continue her work on governance and innovation in family firm.
