Information about Jönköping University's students in Hong Kong

Jönköping University (JU) recommends their exchange students to leave Hong Kong. This assessment is made after discussions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Utrikesdepartementet, UD) both in Stockholm and on site in Hong Kong, and after information from all Hong Kong partner universities that no teaching will be conducted on site for the rest of the semester, meaning that the students can finish their studies online.

The International Office at Jönköping University has been in contact with all JU students in Hong Kong via e-mail, telephone and Skype, and they will continue to support the students.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends all Swedish citizens to exercise great caution, and they urge this call especially to Swedish exchange students at Hong Kong universities. "Avoid crowds and follow local news closely.” JU has ongoing contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are following the continued developments in Hong Kong.
