Agreement for  “Excellence Scholarship” renewed

On Tuesday 19  November the agreement that awards the “Excellence Scholarship” for studies abroad was renewed.

Jönköpings Borgarekassa och Bjuggska fonden have been sponsoring the Excellence Scholarship since 2004 and since then nearly 3 million SEK have been distributed to students. The scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding academic performances and students are ranked by grades and get a choice of fifteen of the foremost of JIBS many partner universities.

Jönköping Borgarekassa och Bjuggska fonden was started in Jönköping in 1815 to support the “aged and needy commoners and their widows and children." Over the years and thanks to wise investments the foundation’s funds have increased, and in 1985 a change in rules was made to allow students in commerce and crafts residing in Jönköping to apply for scholarships from the fund.

JIBS Dean Professor Johan Roos thinks it is great that the school will keep having the opportunity to offer students such a great reward for good work. And he is inspired by the foundation's long history : - It's great to take part of Jönköping’s history in this way, and it's important that our students also get to feel like a part of it. The link between the past and the future is very strong here. And being able to reward scholarships to study abroad to students who have shown outstanding results is fantastic and just  in line with JIBS principle "international at heart. "

Present at the  ceremony was Lennart Gabrielson, President, Carina Sandberg, Vice-President and Anders Grahn, Secretary and Treasurer from Jönköpings Borgarekassa och Bjuggska fonden, as well as Johan Roos, Dean, Anna Blombäck, Associate Dean of Education and other representatives from JIBS.
