Circular solution wins Innovation Race for Sustainability
On October 17-19, the annual student competition Innovation Race for Sustainability took place. 150 students from Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) participated in the competition to generate new, sustainable solutions based on the circular economy for some of the county's well-established companies. The challenge resulted in sharp concepts that will help companies meet future challenges – sustainably and successfully.
Technology students competed in solar car race
On Monday, October 17, the Solar Car Race took place at the car company Atteviks as part of Climate Week. Technology students from the county's high schools were invited to compete with their solar cars in the different speed, design and innovation categories.

Sweden's best middle school teacher is a JU alumnus
Therese Damberg, who studied the Teacher Program in grades 4–6 between 2015 and 2019 at The School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University (JU), was named Sweden's best middle school teacher on October 10.
Jönköping University in prestigious world ranking
For the first time, Jönköping University (JU) is included in Times Higher Education's ranking of the world's top universities. In this year's ranking, 1,799 universities in 104 countries are ranked and JU ends up in place 601-800 in the world and twelfth place in Sweden.
Alumni of the Year celebrated at Jönköping University
On 5 October, the ceremony was held where five former students from Jönköping University (JU) were praised for their efforts. Mats Jackson, Executive Vice President at JU, together with representatives from the five schools presented the awards to the alumni. After the award ceremony, a panel discussion was held with the award winners.

The Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) has expressed its deep concern for the current situation for students and university employees in Iran. Jönköping University's president, Agneta Marell, supports SUHF's statement regarding the violence in Iran.
