Johan Klaesson appointed Dean and Managing Director of JIBS

The Board of Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University (JU) has appointed Johan Klaesson as Dean and Managing Director. Johan Klaesson is currently Acting Dean of JIBS and will take up the post of Dean and Managing Director with immediate effect.

“It feels very inspiring to be able to continue developing JIBS alongside talented colleagues and students. JIBS has a strong international standing, and I’m looking forward to building on that and contributing to the school’s continued development. I look forward to further strengthening partnerships both within the academic community and with the wider community,” says Johan Klaesson.

Johan Klaesson is Professor of Economics and has worked at JIBS for many years, including as Associate Dean of Research. He was also the founder and director of the CEnSE research centre (Centre for Entrepreneurship and Spatial Economics). His research focuses on regional development and entrepreneurship.

His experience and in-depth knowledge of the organization provide a solid foundation for continuity and stability in the leadership of JIBS and JU. With Johan Klaesson in this role, we are also better placed to drive JIBS’s strategic development going forward,” says Måns Svensson, President of Jönköping University.

The post of Dean and Managing Director is a four-year appointment.
