Filip Skärin and Mohamed Abdelmageed were awarded the scholarship for Best Presentation at the Xjob fair.

"It was very tough competition this year and we are very proud and happy to receive the price," says Filip Skärin.

They put a lot of effort into making the film and the text about their thesis, which they believe was the key to their success.

They describe Xjobbmässan as a fantastic opportunity to present their thesis to the industry as well as networking and applying for jobs.

Good opportunity to establish a close collaboration

42 JTH students participated in the career fair for graduating students, which was held online for the first time. In their thesis, Filip Skärin and Mohamed Abdelmageed explored the possibility of adapting line balancing to reconfigurable production systems at Volvo. This is to facilitate decisions on the manufacture of future products. They enjoyed collaborating with Volvo very much and and think that the degree project is a good opportunity to establish a close collaboration with a company.

"We have created good contacts with Volvo during our thesis, which will hopefully benefit us in the future," says Mohamed Abdelmageed.

Irene Ramos Lapesa's thesis became the big audience favorite at the Xjob fair.

The audience favorite

14 companies participated in this year's Xjob fair and approximately 4,800 people visited the Xjob fair Digital Showroom. 3,271 of them participated in the voting for the thesis jobs in the Audience Favorite category and exchange student Irene Ramos Lapesa won the category by getting 1, 510 of the votes.

"I put a lot of time and energy into my thesis and I am very happy and grateful to receive this scholarship," says Irene Ramos Lapesa.

She has created a large network during her two years as an exchange student and encouraged the people in the network to vote for her during the Xjob Fair.

"It is basically the only thing I have talked about the last six months," she says and smiles.

Erik Nyqvist and Christian Rosgren were awarded the scholarship in the Best Business Potential category and appreciated getting a price for something they have put a lot of effort into.

Patrik Cannmo, Associate Dean of Education at JTH, is pleased with the Xjob fair and thinks it worked very well in a digital format.

"There was great interest in Xjobbmässan and we are very proud of the JTH students' theses. It will be exciting to follow their path into working life," says Patrik Cannmo.
