EuroHeartCare nominated for Event of the Year

An international heart conference, organised by Professor Jan Mårtensson and his colleagues at the School of Health and Welfare has been nominated for Jönköping’s Event of the Year award.

EuroHeartCare is the annual meeting of the ESC Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP) aimed at helping support healthcare professionals deliver the best care possible to patients with cardiovascular disease.

The School of Health and Welfare, which has a strong profile in cardiovascular care has lobbied for years to hold this international research conference in Jönköping, and the first time ever in Sweden. In May 2017, 400 participants from 30 countries visited the conference at Spira, giving the university and county hospital staff a unique opportunity to meet experts from all over Europe.

The prize is awarded by Destination Jönköping to a person or organization who, during the past year, has made significant efforts to help develop Jönköping as an event and meeting place. It was felt that the hard work and commitment put into the conference by Professor Jan Mårtensson and his colleagues helped put Jönköping on the map as a perfect events and meeting place location.
